This is my cat Scooter. He is a three year old Siamese with lots and lots of energy. Co-habitating… (in style) with a cat in a “nutshell” sized apartment is something I’ve perfected over the years. After many failed attempts at hiding ugly litter boxes and hideous scratching posts, I now have found modern cat accessories that I incorporate into the décor of my apartment.
I absolutely love this chic scratching post and lounger designed by Elizabeth Paige Smith. It is made from corrugated cardboard and Scooter can’t get enough of it.

It sits right in my living room and most guests think it is an extra ottoman. They have no idea it’s c-a-t furniture! I have never had a problem with my cat scratching up furniture or rugs so I think this cardboard lounger is worth its weight in gold! It can be found at designpublic.com for around $320. I know it is pricey but I’ve had it for years and it really holds up and does the job stylishly.
Now to the dreaded litter box…in my small apartment I don’t have any niche to really hide the cat box so instead I just found one that matches my color scheme and it kind of blends into the other furnishings. The company that designs the box is called CATS RULE and I bought it in citrine green. I love the cat face opening. It’s $39.95 at thepamperedpetmart.com. Scooter gives it two paws up.
